Hey folks! Ash here,
Pre-orders are now open for Mutation Program #22, and I’m really proud to be the one writing to you about this release.
Mutation Program #22 is our special International Women’s Day release, brewed entirely by the women of KAIJU! Beer. From the recipe, to brewing, decisions, details, design, and launch, this beer has been built start to finish by our team as a celebration of strength, creativity, and sisterhood, both inside KAIJU! and out in the wider community.
It’s called IMPERATRIX. We chose Imperatrix, the Latin term for a female absolute ruler. We wanted a name that felt commanding, resolute, and unbreakable. The kind of energy we see every day in the women who keep this place running, and the kind of strength we’re backing with this release.
To bring IMPERATRIX to life visually, the team collaborated with award-winning artist and Mark on Melburn winner, Estée Angéline. Her custom label art interprets the "female ruler" theme through a lens of strength and feminine power.
BREWING FOR A CAUSE
IMPERATRIX is a celebration, but it’s also a reminder. Women’s health isn’t abstract to us, it’s our friends, our colleagues, our families. So with IMPERATRIX, we are donating $10 from every carton sold and $50 from every keg sold directly to support ovarian cancer research through the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).
The beer itself is a New Zealand-style Hoppy Pilsner, hopped with Riwaka, Motueka, and Nelson Sauvin. It’s crisp and clean like a pils should be, but with that bright new-world lift from the NZ hops. High-oil aromatics, fresh flavour, and a real sense of new beginnings. The three hops really do something special together; each one making the others stronger and lifting each other up.To bring IMPERATRIX to life visually, the team collaborated with award-winning artist and Mark on Melburn winner, Estée Angéline. Her custom label art interprets the "female ruler" theme through a lens of strength and feminine power.
Pre-orders are open now! Stock is limited. Orders will ship on March 3rd, just in time for you to raise a glass for International Women’s Day on March 8th.
Thanks for backing this one and listening to the story behind it. That’s the part we’re proudest of.
Cheers,
Cheers,
Ash
